Inova Health Update and the Repercussions of H.R. 1 (Big Beautiful Bill)

Inova Loudoun Hospital has been named #9 in the Metro region and #16 in Virginia by U.S. News & World Report. Indeed, every Inova hospital received high-performance recognition in multiple specialties and procedures.

Unfortunately for Inova, the policies in H.R. 1 will mean both an increase in uncompensated care and, concurrently, substantial cuts in reimbursement for our growing Medicaid patient volume. The provisions of H.R. 1 impacting Medicaid coverage and reimbursement are likely to influence how all health systems, including Inova, serve their communities in the coming years.

The changes to Medicaid enrollment requirements in H.R. 1, among other policies, have led congressional analysts to project that up to 300,000 Virginians could lose access to affordable insurance coverage. Additionally, beginning in 2028, H.R. 1 imposes substantial cuts to hospital reimbursement for Medicaid services.

Inova is continually assessing how to respond to the effects of H.R. 1 and the numerous national headwinds impacting hospital systems.

Urgent Need for Blood Donors – Type O Donors Needed Immediately

Knocking Doors for Democrats with AG Candidate Jay Jones

On Saturday, September 6th, we will canvass across House District 27 to connect with neighbors and share our message—from the School Board to the Governor’s office. We are thrilled to be joined by special guest Jay Jones, Attorney General candidate, as well as April Chandler (Algonkian School Board Member), Arben Istrefi (Sterling School Board Member), and Jon Pepper (Dulles School Board Candidate). Together, we will talk to community members, listen to their concerns, and ensure our message reaches every corner of the district.

We’ll be knocking for the entire HD-27 slate, including Gubernatorial Candidate Abigail Spanberger and Lieutenant Governor Candidate Ghazala Hashmi.
Click the button below to register—event details and the address will be shared with registrants prior to the canvass.

How My Office Can Help

Navigating state agencies can be confusing and difficult at times. As the delegate for House District 27, I can help you communicate with state agencies such as the Virginia Employment Commission, Departments of Taxation, Social Services, Transportation, and more! I can also submit inquiries with those agencies on your behalf. There are limits to what I can do, however. For example, I am unable to expedite cases or force state agencies to favor your inquiry, provide legal advice or recommend a specific attorney, intervene with judicial issues, overturn decisions, or be involved with matters between private businesses.

Whether you require my office’s assistance, want to bring an issue to my attention, or invite me to a community event, please reach out here: https://atoosareaser.com/help/.

Alongside constituent services, I can submit drafts for commending and memorial resolutions. If you know of a person or organization in the district that deserves special recognition, please submit a request here: resolution request form.
